Aimee Garcia
Carpenter
Aimee started her career path with an Associate's Degree in Barbering. She competed and won several awards, and was the second best in the Mid-West for the women’s haircut category. Aimee moved on to become a manager, trainer, coach and eventually owned her own studio.
While continuing to run her studio, she opened her own coffee and wine bar. Her place was an instant hot spot. It quickly gained a lot of attention, and was offered an opportunity to franchise, along with inquiries to purchase by investors. It was at this time, Aimee realized, she enjoyed the aspects of planning, designing, renovating and project managing more than running her own business.
Switching gears, Aimee took a position as Assistant Shop Manager for a masonry restoration company. In the ten years with them, she became Shop Manager, and Forman when working in the field. She has her OSHA certification, along with certifications for Aerial Lifts, Scaffolding and Swing Stage operation. She is also licensed to operate eight different types of lift machines. Aimee became one of only a handful of experts in Wisconsin restoring and recreating decorative architectural terra cotta, and religious statues.
Simultaneously, she moonlighted as a set designer for five area schools. Drawing blueprints, purchasing materials and heading up build crews. Aimee was named Outstanding Set Designer, Outstanding Scenic Designer, and Outstanding Costume Designer in Wisconsin.
Aimee’s motto comes from one of Aesop’s Fables. “Necessity is the mother of invention”. If there is a need, she will find a way to fulfill it.
